I am more than a body
Sometimes other people can express what you want to say even better than you can. This is one of those times.
Christy Harrison and her guests Lindsay and Lexie Kite are nailing it!
This image on Instagram was a total scroll stopper and then the message spoke to my heart.
chr1styharrisonYou are more than your body. You are more than what you look like, more than whether or not people perceive you as attractive. Your worth doesn’t lie in your body size, shape, or appearance. You are *so* much more than all of that.
.
You are your ideas and passions and goals. You are your relationships and connections and sense of humor. You are the voice within, observing the world around you as well as your own thoughts and feelings. .
You are so many things, things that are so much more important than what you see in the mirror.

I can’t wait to listen to this podcast episode on body image resilience. It is a topic that is a major part of my own journey and I never get tired of hearing truth spoken in new ways and from new voices.
Diet culture says I am only a body, and not a very good one at that. But diet culture lies.
I am more than a body.
I am a redeemed child of God. (Romans 3:23-24)
I am not defined by my appearance.
I am a set-free child of God. (Romans 8:2)
I am not the number on the scale.
I am sanctified and made acceptable in Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 1:2).
I am not the size of my jeans.
I am the made-new child of God. (2 Corinthians 5:17)
I am not made to be measured by culture’s definition of beauty.
I am the chosen, loved child of God. (Ephesians 1:4-5, 11-12)
I am not valued by the numbers of followers I have on social media.
I am more than a body.
I am an original work of art made for my own good and for the Glory of the Maker Himself. Ephesians 2:10 says, “For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago” (NLT).
