I am thrilled to be a part of the Body BLoved launch team for the new Food Freedom Bible Study. Here I share an overview of this online course, who it’s for, why it’s so needed, and what I love about it.
What is the Food Freedom Bible Study?
The Food Freedom Bible Study from Body BLoved is a simple, gospel-centered program for breaking the bondage of food, exercise and body issues.
It includes 3 video teachings, a workbook to accompany each video teaching, and access to a private community led by Body BLoved Dietitans.
Who is this Bible Study for?
This online course is for every Christian who has ever been on a diet. Seriously, every single one!
I see this online course as an essential tool in the hands of women’s ministry leaders. But it’s not just for women, the entire church needs this message.
Why is this food freedom message so needed?
This Food Freedom Bible Study is so needed because Christians are constantly bombarded with messages about health and weight loss – both from the diet culture we live in and from within our local churches.
Church-based weight loss competitions, programs, and Bible studies aren’t improving our health and aren’t inclusive for our brothers and sisters in larger bodies.

My Review of the Food Freedom Bible Study from Body B Loved
The Food Freedom Bible Study from Body BLoved is a powerful resource for the Christian woman who struggles with dieting and negative body image.
This course will take you on a journey of realizing the true impact dieting has had on your health, learning what becoming a non-dieter looks like, and shifting your perspective to see yourself as God sees you.
This course is a wonderful introduction to Health At Every Size and a non-diet approach to food – something the church desperately needs to learn about!
The concepts are explained through approachable and engaging videos that would be great for individual or group study.
The written materials offer reflection questions and exercises that will bring the concepts to life in a personal and practical way.
I have no doubt the Lord will use this course to break the chains of diet bondage for many women.
What I love about this Bible Study
If I hadn’t been on the launch team for this amazing program and if it hadn’t been launched in this season of stay-at-home, I would have LOVED to do this course in person with a small group of women!
When I think about what it would be like to meet once a week for 3 weeks, watch the video teaching, discuss it with my friends, take the written materials home to work through and reflect on during the week… I just can’t help but picture heart issues being revealed and healed.
The Lord has already taken me on a solo journey of this kind, so I wasn’t learning these concepts for the first time in this course (which is perfect for beginners) but I still got such a sense of encouragement from Amy’s teaching style. With this course I could feel the message moving even more from my head to my heart.
I also love that the online course creators have written Diet Detox, a 30 Day Devotional to Ditching Diets and Claiming Christ’s Love. This book is on my recommended reading list for women who are sick and tired of dieting and longing for a Christ-centered approach to health.
So after the powerful 3 weeks for course material, you can walk out the teachings in your life and have daily encouragement and reminders for that through this sweet little devotional. What a pairing!
Chains are going to be broken by this Food Freedom Bible Study! I have no doubt.
