The greatest commandment is to love God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength (Mark 12:30). So in those 4 areas we can cultivate habits that will help us love God more fully. When we do that, we grow spiritually and experience stress relief by better connecting to the Lord.
Habits for Spiritual Growth
This article unpacks some of my personal habits for spiritual growth that I’m discovering, in this season of COVID-19, are helping me with some much needed stress relief!
- Heart – express your creativity
- Heart – connect with your purpose (Pssst… hey dieting sister, your purpose is not weight loss)
- Soul – journal to cultivate faith
- Soul – worship from home
- Mind – focus your mind with Christian meditation (learn more about Christian meditation)
- Mind – memorize scripture
- Strength – remember food is a gift (this reminder is a great entry point into intuitive eating if you’re new to the concept)
- Strength – move with joy
I really look forward to seizing this stay-at-home season as an opportunity to cultivate healthy habits that will help me love God more deeply with my whole being: heart, soul, mind and strength.
